Daniel Pauly (born 1946) is a French-Canadian fisheries scientist and professor at the University of British Columbia. He is internationally known for research on global fisheries, marine ecosystems, “shifting baselines” and the ecological effects of industrial fishing, and is the founder and principal investigator of the Sea Around Us initiative.
