Thomas Ligotti (born 1953) is an American writer and essayist best known for philosophical horror and weird fiction. His work combines literary horror with a deeply pessimistic view of consciousness and human existence; his nonfiction book The Conspiracy Against the Human Race develops these themes explicitly through philosophical argument.
